Even though I'm around an N2 level, every time I watch your more "beginner" lessons I always learn new things too, whether it's vocab or expressions (I knew 役に立つ but didn't understand ためになる as a set expression). I'm really glad you're making so many great videos!
Sensei please consider making a video on てくる/ていく and the many meanings it can take on in a sentence. This seems like a simple grammar point but honestly it is much deeper and nuanced than I had expected. Your videos are so comprehensive, I'm sure you'll help us master these forms as well! よろしくお願いします~🙇🙇
Yeah sometimes they literally mean coming/going, but other times they seem to have a time-related meaning, and sometimes I just can't figure them out. Also past tense versions てきて/ていって seem to have different nuances as well.
Thank you for breaking these up into smaller videos! I take my time with lessons like these, and 40 minute vids can take me 3 hours to process. This is very 為になります!本当に!
I like it that you put much effort in the subtitle and wote it also in different colours:) Great job! That could actually inspire me to try again learning japanese haha..i made a big pause form learning it..:) cheers
This is so helpful, I’m planning on taking the N4 in Tokyo this December!! I have so much to study but you make it so much easier for me Thank you Misa! ^__^
I am reminded of the line in Shoujo Kakumei Utena: 世界を革命するために "In order to revolutionize the world". (If you haven't seen that anime yet, it is one of my favorites and I highly recommend it)
Thank you for trying hard doing all the subtitle in english , Japanese and all the detail color in each word These are so helpful! and We know that it take time to do those So thanks a lot!!
Thanks a lot for your videos. I’m still at the pre-beginner level and keep watching your videos. みさせんせいのじゅぎょうは、ためになります。 With regard to the word “karma” that you used in this video, please note the “r” here is actually pronounced. That is its ka-r-ma and not kaa-ma. A lot of people get this wrong.
This is getting embarrassing. And redundant. Each time I watch one of your lessons, somewhere in the middle of it I realize, again, how much I am learning because of how good you are at teaching. And I just have to leave a comment telling you how great you are. 恥ずかしいですが 本当に、教えてくれてありがとう!
Ahhh I almost understood the proverb. I figured ならず but I often get なさけない mixed up with はしたない. I thought it meant being nasty doesn't help others. :( About the buying my son a car example, can you say it this way? 息子に車を買ってあげるために、貯金しています。 As always, thank you for the lesson! 次回の授業を楽しみに待っています。きっとためになります!
Hey i've been trying to learn japanese on and off for about a year. Misa ur videos have been a great help. Due to my work i have little time and can not study every day or i have to stop for multiple weeks. I find it rather hard to refresh my memories after long breaks. Could someone tell me what to do or sugest exercises for me to do after a break? Ty
Haha - you say that the live-to-eat and eat-to-live distinction is confusing, and then prove it at 1:42 by getting it the wrong way round. You say Socrates said we should live to eat, but meant the opposite!
Thanks for the video Misa. I want to ask you one question about the sentence 彼女に会いに日本に行きます。What form should I use for Ichidan verbs like 食べる? Would the sentence be written like りんごに食べに日本に行きます ?
Whether its ichidan or godan you change vern into masu form and remove masu and the verb stem youre left with is the correct one to use! 食べに行く/映画を見に行く/カラオケで歌いに行く all are correct✔. Hope this helped
are you an angel or something, that's the best teaching I've ever seen on japanese on the whole internet
and believe me I know the all internet !

I love how you take you time and go through several examples with different use cases and nuances in order to really drill down the concept.
